Nature Research Center,
North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
Opening in 2011, The Nature Research Center (NRC) represents an 80,000 square foot expansion of North Carolina’s largest natural history museum located in downtown Raleigh. Having established an unprecedented partnership between a public museum and research university, working scientists drawn from North Carolina’s sixteen universities will be in residence at the museum to talk with visitors, lead Citizen Science projects and help plan future exhibits. The NRC integrates exhibits with working research laboratories, taking visitors on a learning trajectory from observer to participant.
